The standard view of an AI harness is a bag of coding tools, prompts, and PRDs. The richer view is that a harness is the entire compression pipeline from a feeling in your brain, through prompt engineering, all the way to model execution — so you can say as little as possible and still transfer full intent. In other words, intent engineering sits on top of context engineering, which sits on top of prompt engineering. The harness already knows your goals, current state, ideal state, identity, and projects, so generic prompts like 'do you think this works for us?' carry enormous meaning.
