The act of recording is therefore not an administrative chore bolted onto learning but the very mechanism that transforms scattered noticing into a generative engine: every observation captured, every entity wired with a back-link, every fact routed into persistent storage rather than session scratch becomes a node that future thinking can build on. Disciplined capture without explicit linkage leaves knowledge fragmented and unfindable, while linkage without capture has nothing to link — the two must travel together. The practical test is sharp and falsifiable: if something should matter in months or years, it must be written down and connected; if it will expire this week, it is noise.
